My family always told me that I was a natural storyteller. I love to study people and their unique style that sets them apart from the crowd. I found my passion for people early on, and I’m as extroverted as it comes!

I always thought I would be a writer, or someone who researched social relations. I went to school for sociology and liberal arts…Then one day I took a photography course, and everything “clicked”.
Photography has a way of drawing out beauty and moments. It is so powerful, and many times, it can be life changing. I remember when I saw a professional portrait of myself that I actually loved (for once) and it created a snowball effect of embracing who I was, and what I was meant to do. I decided to take a risk and go after my dreams of being an entrepreneur/ photographer. I truly believe that when we believe our own beauty, we are so much more likely to chase our dreams, live in the moment, and embrace joy and kindness. That’s what I’m all about!

Meet 2nd Photographer with J Studios: Lara
Lara has photographed with Jacqueline for the past three years, along with photographing other weddings for the past 6 years. Jacqueline is excited to promote her to a lead photographer; she is an amazing artist; and we are so blessed to have her on our team!

I am inspired by elegant texture, soft vintage colors, playful fashion, and the emotion on your face. I love having your loved one whisper something in your ear and see the light come through your eyes.
When I started doing wedding photography about 6 years ago I loved the beautiful images I could capture. The details, the faces, the holding hands. But even more now I think I love the blanket of tradition and joy that I feel while shooting a couples wedding. I have met so many amazing couples with their own sweet story and love trying to capture that feeling with my images of their day. My favorite part of shooting a wedding is later presenting the couple with a look through my eyes of what their day was like. The beautiful emotion on a fathers face during a dance, or that sneaked kiss behind a door quickly while alone for one split second on a busy day.
I feel grateful every day for my job and the couples and families I get to know. There is nothing better than spending time with awesome couples and capturing beautiful images and memories at the same time!

Meet 2nd Photographer with JM Studios: Katerina
My name is Katerina. Yes, I know that is a lot of syllables… you can call me Kat. Almost everyone I know does, and it suites me well. I studied photography at the University of Michigan, and I have photographed over 40 weddings with Jacqueline. My style is simple and uncluttered (in my personal life and in my photography), and Jacqueline and I run a very similar wedding photography philosophy of capturing beauty. I love rainy, foggy mornings. Fall is my favorite season (I live in Michigan and the fall colors here are amazing!!!)I’m well traveled and have lived on 2 continents and speak 2 languages.I have a weakness for exotic cheese, rustic bread, and coffee ice cream. I’m a sucker for romantic “Chick Flicks”…and have seen PS: I LOVE YOU a thousand times.Family is at the center of my heart.Photography is at the center of my soul.My style of photography is both journalistic and traditional.
