I LOVE doing Modern Beauty & Boudoir sessions. During the wedding off-season, I schedule “boudoir marathon” days with Salon Freda and Faces by Freda, located right by the Baronette Renaissance in Novi, on selected Saturdays. These “marathon” sessions are a bit shorter than full sessions, therefore a bit less expensive, but they aren’t short on fun! My favorite part of the day is when clients realize just how gorgeous they look in their photos!
The marathon sessions are 40 minutes long with 2 glamorous outfit changes. You can pick lingerie, a glam dress, or a business suit…really it’s up to you! We do about 6-7 sessions on these days, and they fill very quickly! Our dates are Saturday November 16th and January 25th. Warning: the second date always fills first because people want to “lose those 5 pounds” 
– so if you want the January date, act fast!
WHY Modern Beauty and Boudoir?
I started doing Modern Beauty Portraits thinking it would be fun to get my girlfriends all glammed up for pictures. But, during the first few sessions, I quickly realized just how powerful they are. Most women rarely see a picture of themselves that they truly love. The camera does not see women like our eyes do. Camera’s flatten us, make us look wider and washed out. As a result, most women see pictures where they really don’t look like themselves and think “is that really how I appear to others?”. Add to that, everyday women look at magazines where celebrities are professionally styled, posed, and airbrushed to perfection…and they compare themselves to them. The toll this takes on a woman’s self-perception is huge.
This is a chance for me to show women how beautiful they are. It’s not a beauty that comes from hair, make-up and a pretty dress… but the beauty of confidence and appreciation of oneself that comes from feeling gorgeous! And all that primping and gussying definitely helps a woman feel amazing, trust me! (Just scroll to see my before/after shot after a day at the salon, what a confidence booster;)!
WHAT are the next steps?
There are two package options:
The first is $299 and includes 25 of your favorite images on DVD with a printing release.
The second is $199 and includes 5 digital images for you to download. Additional glam hair and makeup is available at Salon Freda for $100.
Additional “Little Black Books” and prints are available a la carte; they make a perfect gift for your sweetie.

A Modern Beauty Session with Jacqueline Marie Studios is a glamour/beauty shoot, boudoir shoot or a combination of these photography genres. For senior girls it is a high-fashion supermodel shoot. For career woman, it is a great time to get a beautiful headshot for your linked in profile and social media outlets. For all women, it is a time to celebrate your beauty and poise.

IS PROFESSIONAL HAIR AND MAKEUP AVAILABLE?
Absolutely. The best professional hair and makeup artists in Metro Detroit work at Salon Freda and Faces by Freda in Novi. I personally have been going to my hair stylist, Kara Richardson, for over seven years now. This is your chance to sit back and be completely pampered. Makeup includes flawless makeup, false lashes, and Freda’s signature glam look. They have discounted their hair and makeup services to $100 for both. You can schedule with them here.

The Photo Session will be about 5-10 minutes from the salon, at the Hotel Baronette in Novi, next to 12 Oaks Mall. I have booked a room for all the boudoir shots, and the lobby has gorgeous details for Modern Beauty Headshots to make you look GLAM!
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Bring 2 outfits. Your choices are:
-Lingerie that highlights the favorite parts of your figure as well
-A glamorous dress
-Or a glam business casual outfit for the business-savvy women.
Your outfit choices just depend on whether you are looking for more of a modern headshot, glamour shot, or a boudoir shot. Accessories such as jewelry, hair pieces, and high heels also look great. ARE THE PHOTOS RETOUCHED?
Yes. Every single photo will be retouched. None of us are perfect, and we could all use a little help! The faces that appear on the cover of magazines all have retouching. Believe me, now that I am in this industry, I do not look at magazines the same anymore. In real life those women look just like us – imperfections and all!
I AM CURVY. IS THIS TYPE OF SESSION STILL FOR ME?
Absolutely! Just as I said above, no woman is perfect outside of the Photoshop world. I shoot women of ALL shapes, ALL sizes and ALL ages. Modern Beauty is truly for everyone. Every womans body is unique and beautiful in its own way and when you walk into your Modern Beauty session, you will feel like the beautiful woman that you truly are. So whether you are young and in the best shape of your life, have had babies and have stretch marks, or are seeing places starting to sag, a Modern Beauty session is for you. You will feel amazing afterwards!
HOW WILL I KNOW HOW TO POSE FOR MY PHOTOS?
I will guide you every step of the way. I do not expect you to know how to pose and how to position yourself. I will tell you exactly what to do, where to look, where to place your body and what expression to give me. You will never be left hanging and I promise you will have SO MUCH FUN. Every woman walks in nervous and walks out feeling confident and beautiful! The most common comment I hear is “I came into this feeling so nervous, but I ended up having a blast!”. Champagne, chocolate, and music help too!
SHOULD I TAN BEFORE MY MODERN BEAUTY SESSION?
This is up to you. If you do decide to go tanning, don’t go overboard. Less is more!
